A really nice step-through big wheeler
« on: July 26, 2017, 12:46:24 AM »
The new Piaggio Liberty 150/ABS at a U.S. dealer.

I don't know - as much as I'm looking forward to the new LIKE150i - might have to give this Liberty a look.
Always wanted a big wheel, mid size scoot. Came along too late for the People's from Kymco. (you lost the plot, Kymco!)
Presently researching Honda Forza/ABS and CB300F/ABS bikes, ATBG*.......mid-size bike & must be RED!
(*after the Burgman is gone)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

That is a very nice looking big wheel.....but, being a Piaggio isn't it going to be up there price wise?

At 3k MSRP, a better deal than the PCX, or the SMAX IMHO.  Fit & finish seemed real nice.
A very light bike. On paper seems similar to the my People old S200 or the older People 150s, maybe a bit quicker & with FI so better MPG
Fit me a bit better than the S did as well.  If my HD blew up & I couldn't get another I'd give it a harder look, but I'm good at the moment for a light bike.

Do you have Piaggio Medley 125/150 in the US?
I've seen it and like it a lot, the underseat compartment is huge and can fit 2 full size helmets.

Yah !  I will ride my bright yellow scooter up to a crowd of beer drinkin hd riders and park right up front !  lol

I like the Piaggio, too !  They gave up some storage space under the seat, made it lighter, and cut the parts count to build possibly a quicker machine.  Looks good to me !

Pretty much.  When I checked one out it reminded me a lot of my former S200.
Size about the same, very similar geometry. A bit lighter, a bit more power and FI so probably better MPG, all at the expense of being more complex, but probably pretty solid regardless.
