Dr Pulley Update
« on: July 27, 2017, 09:41:53 PM »
I went out today to do a shake down run on the new belt and Dr. Pulley slider installation. There is a definite increase in performance with the sliders. I notice more down low pull at start and I saw an indicated 66mph top speed with a slight down hill. The scooter will now pull 55mph at an easy cruise. The 20-30mph range there is slightly more revs but not excessive. I realize that part of the top end may be the new belt but 66mph was never attainable before with rollers when the scooter was new. So far I'm a Dr. Pulley fan! ;D

I installed 13gm sliders. The stock rollers were 14gm but my local seller suggested 1mm less due to the Dr. Pulleys ability to ride higher up in the variator ramp.

Will do, I hope the new found speed doesn't lead to too many "flat-on-the tank" runs, haha!

Here is an update on the fuel mileage with my newly installed Dr Pulley sliders. I'm still getting approximately 70-80 MPG with the setup depending on the speeds I'm doing. I still am impressed by the overall performance that the sliders give.  ;)

Good to hear.  Seriously thinking about getting them fitted as well.  I had sent an email off to find the recommended size for my LIKE 125 and their response was this:

Hello,

stock rolls have probably size 18x14 with each 14g
In this case we recommend SR1814/6-12,5 or (if you are heavy) -12
Sliding pieces SP1814-H

Best regards
Dirk

That's great you are still getting the mpg range you have before the Dr Pulley install. Now you can have your cake and eat it too.

I'm loving the extra torque and at 50-55mph there is still some pull.

The clutch engagement is still as smooth as before but the engine does spin up more at launch. I am getting used to needing a little less throttle for take-off.

I was out with the Like 200i LX today and have reached about 200 miles with the new belt and 13gm Dr. Pulley sliders. I really can now HOLD 60 MPH indicated and will do 66MPH. It's like adding a 5th gear to a 4-speed gearbox!

That really is good.  Looks like they will be a future upgrade for me.
