How big can I go?
« on: August 05, 2017, 10:04:28 AM »
H Guys,

I'm new to the forum and just got an Agility 125. I'm in the UK.
I have a leaking head gasket on the scooter and so I thinking of upgrading the bore size while I'm at it.
As I say, it's currently standard 125cc but my question is: How big can I go using the standard carb, airbox, inlet and exhaust?
150, 160, 180 are available here.

OK, no replies to my original question so i'll try a different route.
Am I correct in believing that these scooters (or GY6 engines) are 150cc in the US as standard?
If so, are the carburetor jets still 104 main and 35 pilot?
I'm not sure how much of a difference in power/torque 25cc will make, but it must help.
Any advise would be helpful.
 ;)

I believe the agility comes as 125cc in the U.S. as well.
That said 150cc versions of the GY6 are common.
My experience is that the 150cc's will hit about 60 MPH without fussing too much reliably while the 125 will not.  The ones I've played with seemed to be good for 50ish.
Generally you'll get a bit more grunt as well, but you're still dealing with a pretty simple engine & a carburetor.

In your case id save money and get a 250cc... for example.
Ull head a road where its going to be time money effort trials and errors. I dont know whats your budget but until you are dine you'll never know.

Id get a set of dr pulley and thats all. Used to have a like 125 that made 105 km/h but when i needed more speed and confort went to a 250 and everything changed!

In Europe there was a Agility City 200. It had the 163ccm engine.

The scooter is just a toy and I want to have a little project on increasing the CC. I don't really want to increase the carburetor size, just the main jet.
I'm thinking 150cc might be the max with standard exhaust. Just putting it out there.  :)

I think you're on the right track with a 150cc kit and bigger jet.  Plan on heavier rollers to take advantage of the increased torque, but 25cc can't make that much difference.  Keep us posted on your progress because there are a lot of those Agility-s on the road and we could all use an extra 5-10mph.

Thanks Guys for your thoughts.

The next question is what size main jet? I expect about 10% increase in the jet size, so from 104 to say 115? or bigger?
Has anyone got a 150cc that could advise?

Thanks

I have agility, 125 R16. I've put the cylinder 160 on a no-load basis. The main dive # 110 and variomat sport top performance with weights of 13.5 grams.

That'd be the same motor as my S200 then.
Had a bit more grunt than the 150cc but not a lot of difference in top end.

In Europe there was a Agility City 200. It had the 163ccm engine.
