Yager got 90 MPG
« on: July 05, 2010, 12:00:51 PM »
Saturday I decided to start cleaning out the garage while the family left for Jersey to attend a Pool/BBQ at my Brother inlaws house. I took the Yager later on. I went to fill up yesterday and to my surprise she got 90 MPG. 95% of the trip was highway, traveling between 58-60 MPH. It's hard to put in words how pleased I am with my Yager, she has the heart of a lion and sips gas like a moped. BTW 90 MPG beats her previous high by 14 MPG. I'll probably keep her when I upgrade to the Downtown 300i. Come to think of it, if she was a true 200 I wouldn't be looking to upgrade.

I will post my MPG after the next tank since I was able to reset the trip odo! The Yager IS really a nice machine and I love riding it!

Cool. Try using Fuelly.com. What type of driving are you doing?

First time computed 65 mpg. Second time was about 75 mpg on a 140 mile round trip. It will take a while to stabilize as I get more consistent in filling in the unusual location on the splash guard and the Kymco engines seem to take forever (lotsa miles) to break in if my Agility 50 was any indication.

That's pretty good. It took my Yager a while to break in. How do you like it so far?

I am absolutely favorably impressed. It always seems to have a positive response when I twist the throttle even going uphill which is something missing on my previous motorcycles.

Last tank computed 88 mpg. This was mostly at 40-45 mph which is about all I can get Millie up to on her Buddy 150. Hers got 96 mpg on the last tank and it has less miles than the Yager.

I just put 200 miles on my Yager GT 200i. Filled the tank and am going to check my mileage. This scoot runs like a raped ape. I was cruising up a local road and looked down and realized I was doing 55 in a 30 zone. Whoa! Time to back down.

Well I did my first milage check, 69 MPG. Not as high as I would have liked. Maybe it will get better as it breaks in more. I do tend to ride hard.

MPG got much better at about 2k. Highway running will yield the best results, mixed driving I was getting mid 60's to low 70's average.

Well my second mileage check came in at 75 MPG. Who knows maybe it will get better. I've got about 1000 miles on the scoot and am still loving it.

Wow, that's a great MPG! I don't think mine is there yet, but I think I have to do more blowout highway driving. I'm just over 700 miles on her and will have to do some servicing at 800.
I agree, though, she's a great scoot.

What kind of gas are you using? I've been staying with Plus, but I don't remember if the service mechanic at the dealer ship suggested premium or not.

I just started to use 87 regular. That's what the book and the tag inside the box calls for. My dealer told me to use 87 and I didn't believe him. I've read that if your engine calls for 87 you will get better mileage with it than 92. Guess I'll find out. Most of my riding is around town doing 35 - 45 MPH.
