« on: July 07, 2010, 04:18:44 AM »
;D I have read some website claiming the quannon 125 does 0-100 kph in 20 seconds
some youtube video clearly show the bike do 0-100 in 15 seconds
so what about your bikes ? keen to share ?

I do not know if you are asking about your bike or generally.

It is difficult to find 0-100 km/h acceleration for scoots and small displacement bikes because that information is quite not-important as they are slow and it rarely makes sense to measure it.

However, I have managed to find that my People 250S has 0-100 acceleration of approx 11.5 sec.

Never tried to measure myself though, but I would say that from 0-100 it has performance of a ~1300 kg compact car with 100-110 hp, so it should be quite correct.

My last bike was doing 0-100 in less than 3 secs and had a top of ~230, which is considered slow in bike world, so I am not too impressed with scoot performance. However, I must add, 250S is quite enough for transport and where I drive it, I do not realistically need anything faster, considering it has indicated top of 155 km/h which is more than enough around the city and city ring highways. On the other hand, I would not complain about Ninja 1400R, Hayabusa or something like that.

I really have no idea how long it takes for my quannon to reach 100 from zilch. I've never found it particularly interesting on any of my former bikes.

With slow bikes it's not an issue because you know before you buy it's not exactly stockpiling torque right!? And brute force isn't the reason you've bought it.

My last bike on the other hand ( honda cbr1100xx superblackbird ) could manage that sprint in less than 3 seconds. You'd still be in 1st gear as the speedo passed the 100kmh marker. And even on that thing i didnt find the exact time particularly interesting because with that much power it's all down to the driver if he's capable of timing clutch release and throttling up just right. You'd just be measuring is it pulling hard or is it pulling really hard.

So my answer to your question can't be anything other than: "don't know, don't care"  ;D
