starting problems agility 50 4t
« on: August 24, 2017, 08:10:05 PM »
hi all, i had my bike stopped for a long time, i tried to run it, but the batery was dead, tryed kick start but it seems to be kind of jammed, it won go back up when i kick it, and it wont work...

i decided to buy new batery, instaled, and gave it a go, but even if the electric starter works, the bike wont start.
checked the spark plug, and its working fine.

what could it be?

thanks in advance

after 7 years not running, it started.  :D

i opened the kick start, clean all parts (rust)  with wd40, it´s ok now.

buyed carb cleaner, and spray it in air intake to the carb, and spark hole.

elcetric start and it worked. kick start works too.

in the beginning it lost power even in full throttle...
more spray in the carb air intake, it´s ok now.

but i had too much air flow, it cannot run idle for more than 1 or 2 minutes.

had to cover the air intake a bit before de air filter for the bike too keep running idle.

Auto bystarter not working, that' why it won't idle long.

Yes, check the wire to the bystarter, as it may have lost contact. Get a small, cheap ( less than 20 bucks US) multimeter, hook it to the bystarter wire (on or off the bystarter connection), turn the key on. You should have about 6 to 8 volts. If you still have zero, find out why. Check youtube.com for bystarter test. Let us know what you find.

could not start the bike anymore..
so, i removed and tested auto choke, i got current, i tested resistance, 16.9ohm, i cleaned it, and put it back in place.

remove the carburateur, and the pilot(?) jet was obstructed, i cleaned both jets, reintaled carb.
the bike started right away, idle is good now.

but when i go above 3/4 of throttle, i get power loss, to that point it works ok.
when it loses power, if i reduce throtle to minimum, and acelerate moderatly it recovers.

at this point, i am stucked...

maybe i should take the carb out again and check it out..

air filter has some fissures on it, dont know if that could be responsible for this symptoms.. guess not?

Update:
Arterial some research i found that full throttle problems of losing Power had to do with main jet. (Idle onde with pilot jet)
So today i removed the carb again, and clean it All top to bottom.
Reinstaled the carb and its all great now.
No more loss of Power at full throttle.
I still have an issue Tough..

At idle, if i go full throttle right away, it takes some time to respond...
Takes 3/4 seconds to acelerate...

But only if i go idle/full instantly.
