I'll tell ya in two weeks, I am going for my 600 (700+) maintenance on the 17th! I know they change oil filter and oil and trans fluid.... and if you notice something wrong they look at it (like my throttle need to be adjusted)

anyway I will ask and get a list if possible.  I know the first one has to be done by the dealer for warranty purpose.

Hiiii!

Well took my XC in for its first service yesterday (Saturday the 17th) and they actually do a lot to it, I was surprised! They actually have a 27 point inspection they do which is as follows.

Basic Service:
Change Oil
Clean screen
Change oil filter
Change final Drive oil
Check Breaks and break fluid
Test Battery
Test lights/ horn
Adjust Cables
Adjust idle
Check loose hardware
check steering bearing/ handle bars
check/ change spark plug
check cam chain / timing
Check valve clearance
Check Cylinder / head/ torque
Check / change air filter
Clean and rebuild carb
Check PVC / Vapor Recovery system
Check coolant/ Fan Operation
Tire Pressures
Test Drive

Of course if you bike does not have some of the stuff they do not check it, but any extras such as they found another XC had problem with slipping (clutch belt?) so they check on mine to make sure it was not a problem. I also made sure they tightened the throttle because it was a little loser then I care for (but still in the range of being ok!)

on a side note, now that my XC turned over a 1000 miles (in less then 4 weeks) it has started to gain MPG!! from 49 to 51 now! :)

hope this helps ya when you get yours serviced!!

I am sure this is the check list, but I would REALLY like to see they do all this, especially timing, valves and carb rebuild (?!?).

..we hear so many bad dealer service stories here...

..it's good to know there is hope..

..actually, my "local" scoot shop is listening, and stepping up their game...
