UXV. 700
« on: September 11, 2017, 03:09:36 AM »
I have inherited a UXV 700 from a family member and it runs fine mi us one issue. There is no reverse. When I put it in reverse and hit the gas the gear grinds. I can play with the shifter a bit and move it in between gears a hair and I'll have reverse for a split second. Then just grinding again. Anyone ever seen this? I really don't want to split  the cases on this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds internal to me as well however, you need to try the simple steps first to determine if it is really inside. Find out how to adjust the shift linkage!!  Get yourself a service manual so you know how to adjust it correctly. On my 450i if the linkage is off you have no gear..
