Malfunction of my mp3 player by my led lamp
« on: September 25, 2017, 10:30:48 AM »
Ik heb een vraag: Ik heb mijn koplamp vervangen van mijn Kymco Agility 16+ 50cc voor een ledlamp. Maar nu stoort hij heel erg op mijn mp3 speler.

Wat kan ik hier aan doen? Bv onstoringsfilter of zo?

Hoor het graag.

I have a question: I replaced my headlight from my Kymco Agility 16+ 50cc for a led lamp. But now he is very disturbing on my mp3 player.

What can I do about it? Eg noise filter or so?

Would like to hear.

It is not the light, it is the little fan on the light that is disturbing your mp3 player. You will have to install an EMI filter on the power leads of either the fan or the mp3 player.

hello Carl, in my LED lamp is not a fan. there are large cooling ribs on the front. Will it be related to a capacitor or something that can interfere? what is probably in the lamp?

I also recommended a cable from the switched plus of the connector to the lamp's plus, but this does not work, it still interferes with the mp3 player.

Do not know, then. The LED headlight assemblies I have seen have fins and a tiny fan. It is something with the LED that is causing your mp3 to go nuts. Is the noise in the mp3 steady or does it change with engine speed?

I have even tried the same lamp, but then a new one, but it will be. I have also tried another type of led lamp, but it does not give a disturbance, but too little light. I actually have little difference in engine speed. As soon as you switch on the lamp, my mp3 radio reaches completely, then the engine is not even running. When driving, it seems that you hear the engine speed, but nothing changes as you drive faster. I've got my original bulb again.

Wow! I am then out of ideas. Do not know how a DC device could make that sound.

Does your mp3 player get power from the bike to operate?

Try putting the player inside of a steel box or can with a steel lid, earpone wire (s) running out the lid joint. Ground the can to the frame with a wire. This all may be a pain but this rig may shield the player from the magnetic disturbance. Be careful the lid joint does not cut the earphone wires.
