Hey folks, I recently bought a 2007 A125 with just over 1k kilometers and so far I'm really impressed.  The only problem area I have is the headlight.  It's just not bright enough for the driving I do (mostly night driving to and from work).  I was wondering if anyone has ever added auxiliary driving lights to improve visibility.  I saw that bi-xenon retrofit thread and hell, that would be amazing to do but it's way out of my mechanical know-how.  Would 2 55w lights be too much for the electrical system on the bike?  I also hear the agility uses ac current instead of dc, is this true as well?

..yes it would..

..can only go as high as MAYBE one dual element headlamp rated at @ 40 watts...

..35 watts is the oem spec, and much over that creates too much heat...amperage, all resulting in either melting of your reflector and / or wiring and rectifier...

..aftermarket wiring can be adapted, if you run a separate circuit directly from your battery, thru a fuse and switch...

..don't do anything to modify your scoot's oem wiring..the wire "sizes" are only able to handle a certain amount of current...

Right, I wouldn't be changing the stock headlight or anything though, I would just like to add extra lights.  Driving/fog/auxiliary lights to give a little extra.  I guess what I'm asking is, would I be able to purchase a separate set of lights complete with their own wiring set up and switch and run them off the battery?  I don't know how the charging system/alternator would handle extra loads like that.  I was looking at a set of 35w driving lights made for motorcycles but I'd like to see if anyone else has done this before with no bad side effects lol.

..i have a bunch of LEDs on my A50...but they draw very little current, and i created their circuit with wire and parts i bought at th' local advance auto...

..they are for under-carriage "ground effects" type of illumination tho..

..i'm not sure just how much MORE the oem setup could stand, without taking on some damage..i'll research that...hmm...

..maybe a capacitor would be in order, in a newly created circuit, if you needed more current..

Well I bought a 55w fog light kit for atvs and motorcycles and used just one light.  I mounted it just above the fender on the steering column and fit the switch in between the engine kill switch and the electric start on the handle bars.  I'm getting no dimming at all and everything works fine so if anyone is interested in mounting any more lights, I'd say go for it as long as you use the wire that comes with the kit and connect it directly to the battery.  I would imagine the bike could handle 2 35w lights easily.

Much better!  The low beam by itself is too scattered but now the foglight fills in the patchy spots. When I have the high beam on, the new light keeps what's in front of me illuminated.
