P250 windshield
« on: September 29, 2017, 02:41:33 AM »
I just got a 2007 P250 with a sun-faded windshield. I'd like to replace the plastic. Does anyone know where I can get a new or fairly decent used one? I find them in Italy on ebay but the shipping cost is exorbitant (over $100).

Do you want OEM size? I have the PS250 but I think the PS might be different, can't remember.

Columbia scooters used to have one that fit the PS250, I think PUIG had one also.

Terry, I think the PS is different from the P, at least the headlight looks different. How much do you need for it?  Stu

Terry,

An idea: I can mail you a tracing of my windshield to see if they are the same.

Stu,

I don't have one I want to sell, as you are aware, these are hard to come by. I had to put one in the oven to make it fit, the Givi I have, the mount hardware I searched the world over and had to get a forum member (from another forum) in France to assist in getting the kit to the states for me.

The guy did not ask for any money until I received the kit from him, great guy. As you say I don't know that the two shields are interchangeable.

If you have an S and are in the Seattle area I "might" have on that fits I'd let go for a song (all acoustic, no auto-tune, my choice of genre)

I think it would make sense to buy a new OEM one. I'd expect a used one to be well on its way to being worn out, and expensive to ship.

The part number for the regular people is 6422A-LLJ3-E00, and can be found under the "Handle Steering & Handle Cover" category. Apparently it's a bit less than $150 shipped.

Thanks, hypo,

I'd love to buy a new one. Who sells them?

And thanks Tromper: The last time I sang in the shower the neighbors called 911, thought I was dying.

Anyone that sells Kymco parts should sell them. It can be slow though to get them in.

Here's the first one I found. The link is for the non-S People 250:

S vs. Not an S is the critical point here.  Very different attachment bolt arrangement.  They will not cross.

Thanks for the info, hypo,

Whoda thunk the windshield is listed under "Handle and Steer"?

I ordered one from Leeson's for $127.73 postage paid.

It was described as "wind screw". God, I hope not!
