Got my winch installed last night. Took a few hours. Dealer was running a special on the warn vantage 3000. Paid less than $100 and turned out really good.

We put the Harbor Freight chinese 2500# winch on our UXV500i and found it very useful. Kinda one of those "how did I ever get along without" this thing!? Dirty, worn utility tool with a few scratches!

I can see permanently mounting a winch up front if yer plowin snow

personally I think it's wiser to have the winch hitch mounted, and install a 2" receiver up front. That way you can winch from front or rear depending on needs at the time

For me the permanent front mount worked well mostly due to the wiring. It's also enclosed in the front end. Battery is right there too. Got a great deal on it.

I do carry a come a long that I can use to pull from the back if needed.
