Grand Vista with Chase Harper Saddlebags....
« on: October 12, 2017, 02:36:24 PM »
On Monday morning, I'm leaving for a three day scootering/camping getaway and I needed some additional storage capacity to bring all my camping gear/clothes/tools with me. Several years ago, I was given these Chase Harper soft sided saddlebags from my former neighbor when I bought his BMW motorcycle. In order to mount these bags to my Grand Vista, I had to install a couple of extra grommets to the bags. I then attached the bags to the grab rails with heavy duty zip ties. They look and function beautifully. Between the saddlebags, trunk and under seat storage, I now have plenty of room to bring all my stuff.

Quite a collection of scooters you have there. Looks good with those side bags. Should give you plenty of room. On my way home from church last night I spied a nice pile of goodies on the curb and I put 2 tool boxes, one a 2 drawer with some tools and three large metal ammo boxes on my DT300. I have a rack on the back and soft saddle bags. Wish I had taken a picture before I unloaded, but here's one that shows the rack. Felt like I had another fat person on the back. I have 3 stretch cargo nets that work very well for such situations. Hope you enjoy your scamping

Nice setup as well! You've got a much bigger trunk on your scoot than I have on my GV. Normally, my trunk serves my needs fine, but a bigger one would definitely be nice if I do more of these "scamping" adventures. Thanks for the pic!!!

My ole buddy Snorvey said I have a cooking grill on my DT. LOL, he likes to kid me. I set my bikes up the way I need them That rig includes a driver's back rest, a cargo rack and saddle bag mount and I can press two buttons and the whole assembly slides off to access the under seat area or for a passenger. May not be the best looking DT300 in town, but it works for me. I hated the cramped driver space on that bike until I put out board and forward foot pegs on it. Now I can ride "cruiser" style. I love my set-up now.
