Hi Guys (& Girls)

I've been running around like an idiot for the past month or so....

Forum to forum, shop to shop, ebay, "experts", know-it-all's (who, incidentally, DO NOT know its all!)

I have a Like 50 4T 2010 in black. Love it, couldn't live without it, and I have some big plans for it.

Now, as these are a "New Release" in Australia, not many people have them. Suffice to say, I've only ever seen 2. Ever.

Mine, and a Demo in the showroom. Consequently, the aforementioned experts haven't quite figured out how (or even if its possible) to remove that nasty rev-limiter on the CDI.

Can anyone help me please?

I have thought about going to an aftermarket CDI, however:
a) They are ridiculously expensive when compared to 2T CDI's Super 8's, 9's and all the rest.
b) No one can tel me 100% " Josh, this will fit AND your scoot will actually start.

So far, you have all given me many brilliant ideas, tips, tricks and advice.

Please let there be someone out there with some sort of suggestion or answer.

(I have attached some photos of my CDI as I'm sure someone would like to see what all the fuss is about  ???

Thanks Guys,

Josh.

You may not have to cut and splice a wire, instead the pin may be able to be pulled out of the connector without cutting. They make a tool that slides over the pin to depress a clip on the side of the pin, or maybe you can fabricate one. If you get it out, it can be re-inserted. This is assuming your connector has those kinds of pins.

Yeah, these connector blocks are the type where you just remove the yellow "center cage" and then use a jewelers flat screwdriver to release a small catch that holds the bronzed connector of your chosen wire.

To re-insert the wire into the connector block, just line the bronzed connector up and push until it clicks back into place.

Hey presto! - No more cutting and splicing.

By the way, I found this picture (either on this forum or a Danish site?) and tried to translate/reference this to my CDI connector block - Hope it helps!

For the German Like 50 CDI there is a 5cm purple cable loop to cut (pulling a pin).
Edit (found your last posting too late): Like the Danish CDI.

ts1: You're talking about the purple wire on the 2t (2Stroke/2Takt) model yes?
