Maxxer 450i question

I just bought a 2014 maxxer 450i basket case to fix up where the motor was locked. I'm missing various bolts and stuff but there's a hole in the side they took something out that has me perplexed. If it was a car I'd say it was a freeze plug but wondering if anyone can tell me what goes in there. attaching a pic with it circled in red.

Not as easy as I thought it would be. The exhaust runs right by it. I can see the hole but not inside it. tried to take a picture with my phone, it wants to focus on the exhaust. If it is threaded I would say an allen screw is countersunk in it because it is pretty small. Try again with a mirror and my glasses.

Tried again with glasses, mirror and strongest LED flashlight I have, It is a bad angle to view. If there is anything threaded in there it is recessed just enough I can not see it. If you have the cylinder head off is it threaded?

I tried a couple metric bolts and nothing threaded. I reckon when I get it all back together and if coolant comes out it I'll plug it with something. jb weld to the rescue maybe.

just for the record (an amusement of anyone reading) the hole turned out to be a drain for the recess the sparkplug goes in to. ba dump.

its still a work in progress. between the weather, a cold and finding all the parts I need to get it back together its taking a while. I thought I was ready to go but turned out it had a bent exhaust valve so had I take it all apart again and straighten that out and I was hoping to have the head on today and do a compression test but stuff happened. the next warm day and I'm all over it again.

you will need to change the assembly drop down for other sections of the machine. Good luck!

this project just got put off till summer. got the cylinder head back on and the piston is still hitting the top randomly. pulled the cylinder head off and watched it. every 3 or 4 cranks the piston comes up too high. I'm guessing there's something wrong with the crank bearings or connecting rod which is going to be a long summer time project. I bought this as a 'doesnt run, dont know why' mystery case and its been fun. my first post morten looked like he ran it out of oil and a valve seized hitting the piston but apparently it did damage to the lower end too. I bought a box of used bolts, etc off ebay to get it back together and it included a piston wrist pin so I tried it too so its def in the low end.

Yep probably rod bearings. That would require a new crank with rod
