Personally, im not going to cut my cdi as i dont trust that method, If i were you i would just leave the cdi stock without cutting it, I'm fitting the contra spring and new rollers today and tell you if its worth it! So far i put bigger main jet and unrestricted boss, the boss increased the top speed by about 8 mph, the jet however i put an 82 in and it decreased the performance, so the boss is a must and ill tell you about rollers weights and contra spring once fitted! I'm making this as honest as possible

Holy crap! putting 5.5 gram rollers made a big difference for me, mainly because the old ones had flat spots and were very dirty, when you change the variator make sure to clean it very very well with some cloth and do not, i repeat do not put lube inside it will not work well at all, they need to ROLL hence the name. I didnt do the contra spring as i didnt have the right tools! I put the new ignition coil in and that made it start so well in dry and wet weather!

Really great progress reports! Really pleased to hear what you are doing, what works and what does not. You are having great success and seem to be having a good time at it!

So! After 2 hours of riding, ive realised that the scooter started feeling worse before because the rollers were worn! and now with the 82 main jet and new rollers its very very nice and doesnt struggle to keep up with traffic! very good, it tops out at 40 but thats because it needs a new belt! So my final review is, getting clutch springs- 1000rpm or 1500rpm i chose 1500rpm but 1000rpm is better choice for in town riding, do the 82 main jet but clean the carb out at the same time, put 5.5 gram naraku rollers in it that is a very nice improvement, and you dont need to upgrade the ignition coil but i did just for the sake of it! All the links of purchases below:

I have yet tried to put a new 1500 rpm contra spring in it so not going to recommend it yet, but once i do ill tell you if its worth it, i have a suspision that mine already has a 1500rpm spring but here is the link : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kymco-Agility-50-1500-rpm-Sport-Clutch-Contra-Spring/302289885501?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Thanks for the tip.
I hate to be that guy, but I have no idea what any of these terms mean. Is there a write up on this site or another that explains? And are there any write-ups on how to carry out this work?
I have no idea where to start! I don't want to do too much, I just need my scooter to go a little faster, perhaps 10kph faster would be excellent :) So if you could recommend what would be the easiest thing to do, that'd be great!

Cheers,

Sure, ill send you a youtube video on how to do the variator boss which will give you a really good increase in top speed! Its very simple, you just unscrew all the bolts around the black case below the air box, then you need either an electric impact gun or a variator holder tool, unscrew the cog looking like thing on the left, on your right is your clutch but you dont need to touch that, once you take the variator off you slide the belt off the metal boss ( the round looking like pipe), you pull it out with the variator and pop the new smooth boss in and re fit everything in reverse order, if that isn't good enough then here is a youtube video of how to do it mate!

Good luck!

Thanks heaps oskarpyc, that looks simple enough.
Are the unrestricted boss' interchangeable through different kymco scooters? Or do I need a Agility 50 specifically?
I'm from Australia so it looks like I'll be ordering from overseas, I'd rather order from Taiwan or similar instead of USA, it'll take forever to get here if I go thru USA etc.
Cheers mate : )

Unfortunately, none of those mods will make much difference, except maybe swapping the CDI.  It is what it is, and your target speeds might require a 150cc.  You can spend a pile of money and only get another 2 or 3 mph.

Why? I swapped the main jet to 82, better coil, cdi and now i cruise at around 43 mph and downhill i get 48 i haven't pushed it further but i might get 50 if it's long enough, dont underestimate the power of the KKYMMCOOO

Hey man!
I got the part. Just trying to find time to fit it. (newborn daughter haha).
I havent derestricted the CDI at all, my bike is completely stock. Will changing the boss to unrestricted still work? I honestly just need to get to 40mph/60kph and I'd be happy!!

Cheers

Hi! sorry for the late reply, yes unrestricting the boss will help you a ton! my managed to go from 28 mph to 40 mph after changing the boss its honestly a huge difference in top speed. If you put a derestricted cdi in it you need a 82 main jet because it will run at higher revs. i managed to get 57 mph out of mine today down a really on hill. Changing the torque spring from the stock one to 1500rpm was my favourite mod. so if you want to get the most out of your scooter and be able to cruise at 40-45 on flat roads and 50 downhills then do this.
-CDI Unrestricted
-Boss
-Main jet 82
-Clutch Torque spring 1500
- i changed my rollers to 5.5g but you dont need to do that
then you'll be a happy rider! :) good luck
