That picture looks so cold, I had to turn up the heat a notch!

Been awhile since I've ridden but recently decided to take the SW out but no go....dead battery. Nice having 2 bikes so pulled out the BW and she instantly came to life. Rode it on one of our rural Twisties and that scooter grin came back to life. Scooter therapy is the best and think I may keep the Kymco after all as it's so reliable and again, nice to always have an extra in the stall if the other is down.

I was worried as it is my first winter with the scoot but my Like 200i is running well in this cold nyc winter.
I won't leave it cold for more then 3 or 4 days as it is parked on the street/sidewalk; coldest ride so far is about 4-6 degree F (only about a mile or so)
But she starts up every time and with the proper gear I'm good to go distance as long as it isen't too much colder then 20 degree F.

Btw, just found this forum today, thanks, it's great!

Welcome newyorker!
These LIKEs are great urban commuters. I bought mine for year around work commuting here in Ohio. 3°F was my coldest ride to work.
These scoots do start so well in even the coldest temps - Kymco got the EFI spot-on in these babies.
I for one, would sure like to see some photos of your LIKE in NYC!
How do you secure it there in the city?

Ride safe, and welcome to the circus!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Hey Stig,

I don't have too many photos but I'll take a few for you when I find myself parked in front of some of the more iconic city settings.

As for securing it, I just don't worry about it too much outside of locking the steering, I keep a disk lock in the box, but very rarely use it, it's just such a pain.   Also I carry theft insurance on it, not sure it is worth it, still I suppose anything can happen; nyc is a lot safer then it used to be, so that in itself provides some confidence.

Sadly though I have come back to it on it's side a couple times, a few scratches on the side of the front fairing but that's about all, and really no matter what you drive, this town has a way of beating it up.  Luckily it's a tough little machine.

Thanks for the welcome.

Dan, how is Deb? We have her on our prayer list.

Sorry just saw this. Overall, Deb is surviving the chemo but man is it brutal. Yesterday she needed my help walking from the bathroom and suddenly she went limp and passed out slipping from my arms slumping to the floor and hitting her head. Each chemo treatment really takes her down but then she rebounds and gets back her energy. She has one more to go before surgery. She's a tough gal and will get through this. Meanwhile I have reduced my business to a part time gig and can spend as much time as I can to care for her. Thanks for asking good buddy.
