New LIKE feels different to old one.
« on: December 20, 2017, 10:28:14 PM »
With my new 200i there is a bit of a rough feeling when easing off the throttle or when feathering the throttle up and down slightly whilst riding.  It feels like a slight vibration or roughness and I did not get this on my old 125 LIKE.  Any ideas on what may be doing this and which component may be the cause of it?  I have just received my Dr Pulley sliders but don't know if they would help if it is something else that may need looking at.

Hey Paul,
I remember posting a complaint early days about the throttle being more of an "on - off" switch than a smooth applicant of light throttle power. Herky-jerky at the lightest throttle speeds.
Learned to deal with it over the years - but a LIKE200I is not my fav vehicle in crowded, light throttling city traffic stop and goes 15 feet at a time.

Do not recall any other kinds of roughness.
On a motorcycle I could work the clutch and gas for smooth low speed riding ....but a scooter's centrifical clutch has a mind of its own. It catches, then throttle off, it doesn't.
One can ride the brake I guess to work against things...but I don't.
If this isn't your issue - keep describing so we can throw ideas at it. Like pasta...one of 'em might stick on the wall.
Imho...don't think Dr P's are the fix...but I'm certainly no expert.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Best way to describe it Stig is that say when coming to a corner or a set of traffic lights and you ease of the throttle there is a vibration that is felt when the power drops.  If you ride along at say 40kms or so and back off or give it a bit more throttle it is felt again.  Feels like it is coming from the transmission.
