Suggestions for Performance Mods to K Pipe 125 Please!
« on: February 22, 2018, 02:04:45 PM »
Hi, I would like to 'Hot Rod' my K Pipe and have had trouble finding both knowledge and sources for parts. Yesterday I found 'Steady Garage' www.steadygarage.com and I found four modifications listed:

1) 141CC BIG BORE KIT FOR KYMCO K-PIPE 125
2) ROLLER ROCKER RACE HEAD V2 KIT FOR 141CC - KYMCO K-PIPE 125
3) 26MM MIKUNI VM26 CARB KIT - KYMCO K-PIPE
4) NARAKU RACING VARIATOR KIT FOR  KYMCO

So far, except for no pipe offered this seems to be what I would expect for a motorcycle engine mod. Can anyone please opine about this or any other mods or sources. Thank you very much, Travis

I'm looking for the same and steady garage seems to be the only one doing kits. The parts are likely from China but I cannot fin d the OEM supplyier to bypass steady.
Im going to tear down mine, do some measuring and seem what piston will retro into the K. Carb and Manifold, I'm going to search the Honda aftermarket and build my own kit.
I'll likely build my own pipe.
Whatever you do don't buy the variator kit because you have a manual trans, not a CVT.
I am also going to mod the clutch to make it fully manual. I need to get into it and decide what to do.

Havent gotten one yet.

I know the parts came from TBolt USA. Can probably go direct to them. Just let them know your engine is a 1P54FMI derivative (54mm x 54mm) so they can help nabe the right parts. I talked shop with them at Barber and brought my bike over for them to look at so they could ID the right parts.

Could you swap the engine for a 140 or 160cc pit bike unit? Might be cheaper :)

I think Steady Garage is pimping 190cc Zongshens for them now and offereing 212cc bigbore kits for those.

I have yet to start on my K-Pipe. I'm actually going to put the K-Pipe motor in a Honda CT90 (Trail 90). The Ct's are another one of my obsessions. I've been busy on my Ducati, Triumph and Husky mod's. CT/K-pipe project is low priority but when I do I'll tear it down, do some measuring on the piston and see whats out there for a big bore. I'll stick with the Kymco motor as I believe it's a higher quality motor than the others out there.

I'm open for suspension suggestions,  where I can find springs with a stiffer rate.  Part of the problem is not knowing what the specs are on the stock springs, can't find it anywhere.

I sort the suspension out first before I add more power

I just made a post on the 138cc kit and carb kit. Think I’m going to buy it later today and probably have a shop install it. Just got some enduro tires today to have installed as well.
