my gas gauge was defective from factory so when i dissmounted the side pannels i gave a look in the tank also.
inside is a a pice o wire and a mechanism with the flotor attached to it. all u need is to tighten/loosen the wire by hand so the flotor can move better.
that`s all..and don`t forget the position it has inside the tank

I also have a crazy gas gauge problem.  I just bought my Agility 50 with 127 miles on it and the previous owner said the gauge didn't work.  I've found regardless of how much gas is in the tank that the gauge goes back and forth between either completely full or completely empty and nothing in between even when I have only a half a tank.

esellie....The float should "float".....Try pressing down on the float when the tank is full (assuming that the float is in fact floating at the top of the gas).  It should bob up and down as you press on it.....If it does not then the linkage is probably hanging up or loose or the float has been punctured.  If it does, check your wiring.

i have a 06 agility 50 n the fuel gauge does not work at all anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Bringing you up to date:
I gave up the idea of bending the float arm to improve the accuracy of the gas gauge partly because I can't get at it easily, but also because in fact it moves from the very top of the tank when full to a point where it can't seem to be pushed down any farther (and where the gas needle is pointing through the middle of the "E")......but at which point I was still able to siphon out a bit more than a liter and a half of gas (during which the needle had not dropped any farther).

In the city and suburbs I get about 93 mpg (high test) and about 100mpg in the exurbs and beyond..........when the needle reaches the low point after having traveled some 80 miles in town, that means that I have about another 40 miles remaining before I HAVE to get more gas.

I guess it's better not to tempt fate, the numbers, or your memory.  When you notice that the needle is at the lowest point, STOP AND GET MORE GAS.

Yeah, I like that too, when I start panicking about getting home for fuel, I always make.... so far anyway. I like the 80 miles on a tank, I am at 80 kms. The price we pay for fun, (about $4 a tank)
