engine light on
« on: March 03, 2018, 04:46:14 AM »
hello, I have bought a 2011 downtown 300 and the check engine light is on, it flashes Error 37, I have checked the coil it appears to test ok, the bike appears to run normally. I tried to clear the error but it is still there. has anyone come across this before.

thanks

I do not recall ever hearing this one. How are you clearing the code?

1. Put the side stand up and engine stop
switch is at “RUN”.
2. Turn the key to the ON position and wait
for ten seconds.
3. Fully open the throttle and wait for ten
seconds.
4. Release the throttle.
5. The indicator will blink twice (0.5 second)
after five seconds quickly.
6. Self-diagnosis memory data is
disappeared after the CELP lamp is off.

I think the procedure calls for 8 seconds instead of 10 since 10 seconds is for TPS-ISC reset.

I tried 10 seconds, I tried 8 seconds, I even tried 5. it will not clear the error, I have watched a few of the videos on youtube and engine light come on in the middle of doing the reset and it will not do the 2 flashes to show error cleared. I think it must be the coil or ecu

One more to reset: disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes. That will guarantee an ECU reset.
