You getting ready to ride again?
« on: April 11, 2018, 09:51:33 PM »
For some of us our scoots have been sitting a long time.
Check air in tires - most likely you've lost some.
Pull the dipstick.....look good? (change it in a few weeks)
On Hueys the crew chief would climb up top to check the Jesus Nut...*    On our scoots I guess that would be the axle nuts.

Remember, you haven't done this riding thing in a while. ...so take it easy.

* (FNG Stig, watching him up there, "why do you call it that?"
"Well Doc, this nut comes off the rotor mast.... we'll all be going to meet Jesus.")

Been riding all through the winter (although not every day)

Last month the annual inspection and a service was carried out and I sorted out the drive belt issues and plastic welded the cracked screen (see Downtown forum). I'm pleased to say the DT is running well.

I'ts around 50 - 60F here at the moment, so pleasant enough. I just need a lull at work so I can get out and enjoy it properly

Had a nice ride about 100 Km.   the fresh air so invigorating  33 F  got home and drained the oil installed new filter now warming the oil so I can shake the Tungsten Disulfide powder in the oil, I will fill it when I go for the next ride I have to keep the oil shook up so the tungsten does not settle, got to be a long ride,

Got my wife's People GTI300 out, washed the cat tracks off, checked oil and the bike fired right up after sittin' for 6 months. Very pleased. Nice ride, short but nice. Handling is a strength exercise with those outrigger wheels she likes.
Washed and rode the DT also. 78 F today, very pleasant.

De dee! What is the tungsten disulfide in the oil for?

Dropped my bike off at the mechanic yesterday for the post-winter/annual tune-up. Mechanic said it was good that I dropped
it off (it's been running terribly) as my front brake pads were gone -- metal on metal. Thought I would need to replace the belt drive too, but he doubts it's needed. New spark plug, pads, and any maybe transmission fluid could give me the new vibe I need.

Hope to make a new vlog soon too.

Started riding a month ago. It took a few rides on my Like to get the cobwebs and leftover fear out of my system. Driveways still invoke some tension. I am doing my best to ride in the moment and concentrate on what I am doing. I definitely missed riding. My family is not so enthusiastic.
