The new Honda Monkey
« on: May 07, 2018, 08:58:19 AM »
Will be at the dealers in Australia in a couple of months.  Price is going to be around $6,000 AUD on road which I think is pretty steep so will be interesting to see how they sell.

Looks cool, everybody in the bike pool !
Im not sure I’d call it monkey. What is known now as a monkey has tiny little wheels and frame.

My goodness that is steep,  how much does the $4600 CB300F ABS go for down there?

If Honda prices them reasonably in the States (like under $3500) then I expect we'll see millions of Monkeys strapped to the back of Winnebagos.  But, where do I put the milk crate?

I remember riding the 50cc in the 60s when my friend had something similar. His dad built a carrier for the back of the camper to haul it around. My brother had it's bigger sibling the Trail 70. Thanks for sharing this. Brings back great memories that help form my love of two wheels.

It will be an overpriced toy for those who will bring it out for the occasional weekend in the summer

It seems to be a Grom in different clothes.  Since one of the first bikes I ever lusted after was a Honda Trail 70, I think this bike is really cool.  The problem is that a small scooter is probably just as much fun to ride and is way more practical so I can't see actually buying one of these.

Well, probably not anyway.  The inner kid in me could possibly find some justification for buying one of these....or maybe a Kymco Spade which is also really cool. 8)

A re-imagined Grom was exactly my first impression as well...

What I'd like to see is the British Integra sold in the US. Now that would be a scoot!

Two things to consider...
1) The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
2) Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

The CB300F is currently $5,000 AUD ride away (on road cost included) and the Grom is $4,000 ride away.

That is a good looking scooter.  Don't think it will come here though.

Or much of a monkey bike lol.
Integral not coming or it would have been here’s years ago.

Better chance at this one here if Honda ever gets back into big scoots in the US.

They would make the SH300 available in the USA. At a sensible price I might add.

They don't have the SH300 in the US? It's a big model here!

That's a sharp bike, but I really prefer the Integra. I'm going to import one as soon as I win the Lotto... :)

Saw my first rider on a grom-like bike today. Green one, so maybe a Kawasaki?
Adult sized fellow....looking a bit like a cicus bear on a tricycle.
Bravely riding in heavy 40mph traffic.
