I bought two of these from two different suppliers for my 2106 Kymco Super 8 50x, 4 stroke.  Both made my scooter run worse!  It ran very rough, hesitated a lot and my top speed was only 25 MPH!  With the OEM Kymco CDI I could get at least 33 MPH and it ran great.

Here are the links where I got the two CDI's.

If you still want to try this CDI I am probably going to sell one, or both...

I think the cdi is controlled on a kymco super 8 4t, by the cdi.
Some people have reported problems with the choke not coming off, when using a aftermarket cdi.
Have you tried to feed the choke 12v direct from the battery?

Cause it sounds like the choke is still on.

Kind regards
Magoconnor.

Prior to purchasing the Narauku Racing CDI I knew this may be an issue, so I had the dealer install a manual choke as they suggested.  It didn't help.....

I'm waiting on a simple unrestricted CDI for my Super 8 from China.  I'll see if that works.

It's pretty weird.. Naraku is a good brand, that cdi should work.
Did you talk to the dealer, about the naraku cdi?

I agree on Naraku being a good company.  I'm confused also but the dealer did originally put in an unrestricted CDI (power kit purchased from Racing Planet) and the scooter did not run well at all.  That's why he reinstalled the OEM Kymco CDI (which is restricted) and the scooter runs great.  But the top end is only about 33 MPH on flats even with the derestrictions he did for me which was installing a smooth variator boss, removing the intake restrictor, insatlling 5.5g slider weights and rejetting the carb.

If I can get a unrestricted CDI to work I'm hoping for at least a 5 MPH increase.

Not sure which link you wanted me to give you?  Let me know and I'll send it to you.
