Hello-
I bought a 2005 KYMCO People 50 2t. The bike came semi de-restricted. The Variatior washer was removed.
I was able to de restrict the CDI unit by unplugging the green wires at the base of the unit. 2 seconds.
The bike went from 43 to 45 on flats, and 50 easy on downhill (MPH).
I added a Leo Vince TT pipe this am. The pipe also came restricted at the point of connection to the cylinder head. I removed the cone from the pipe by breaking the weld with a screwdriver, and using a dremel type stone bit in my drill to remove the chunks of weld from the inside of the pipe.
Once I got the cone off- I was able to install the pipe.
The stock rollers were too heavy- and the bike had a real hard time getting to speed- but once the powerband kicked in around 35, it pulled well up to 50.
I got scared and let off the throttle- plus the motor was SCREAMING. It's probably good for 55 with that set up.
Since I'm not looking for TOP END speed, I replaced the rollers with some supplied with the pipe= I think they were 5.7 g (I'll have to check the baggie).
The bike pulls hard to 45mph, and had plenty of acceleration.
Next I need to check the jetting by inspecting the plug and determine if I need to fatten it up or not.
No mods to the air box yet. That is next.
