Stock roller weights: How heavy?
« on: July 29, 2010, 11:23:14 PM »
Does anyone know the weight of the stock OEM Kymco rollers installed at the factory in the People 250?

I just put 20g Dr. Pulley sliders in mine (the heaviest I could find), and it's only been a day (and I'm on a new belt, too), but seem like I lost about 10mph top speed, and riding from 0-50, the acceleration is like being shot out of a cannon... so I suspect I need much heavier sliders to get approximately the same power band I had, previously.

..jp, if you could get yourself ahold of a roller tuning kit, you might wanna run some 1/2 - 1 gram increase experiments...

..play with it, and get it really dialed in...

Well, I have to do all the work at the shop -- they have the tools, and a place to work, right?  So, I'd rather just do it once, if I can.  They have a severe backlog of scooters to get out, right now. I can certainly live with the 20g sliders for now, though -- for in town, they kick ass. I was hoping to make a road trip to the hometown (350 miles away) next month, which I may not do if my top speed's going to be 72mph. Or maybe I'll just take back roads. It'll take all day, but wtf?  Am I really in a hurry?

..lol..you just need to re-catch th'..tuning bug..lol

 ;D

..you could retain some of that rocket-ship acceleration and get your top end back too!!!

..however, it is FUN to zip around town....

I added the DR Pulley Sliders and I can get my large butt well past 80 MPH indicated. I am using all factory parts outside of the rollers/sliders. I could not maintain anything above 80 indicated with my old factory sliders (they were worn wehn I took them out but not overly flatted. )

How heavy are your Dr. Pulley sliders (and where did you find them)?

I bought mine used off ebay and I installed them wrong the first time.  I will be replacing them... some time.  Several retailers have them and most scooter shops can order then. Go kart and Quad website may also have them.
