Mystery tube people 50
« on: July 30, 2010, 02:48:25 AM »
I have a black flexible tube about 3/4" in diameter that comes off the left side of the head shrouding. Where is this supposed to go?
It's a bit kinked, because it looks like it got melted a bit.
Should I replace it ?

The tube runs back to the carb if you still have the rubber boot around it,it will attach to the boot. The only thing this tube does is supply worm air to the carb to keep thing from iceing up in extreme cold climates. In my part of the world  it's the first thing i do away with(the rubber boot) because it does nothing but trap dirt and moisture and get in the way of tuneing. I just let the tube dangle.

Since I'm here in TEXAS in the heat of the summer, I'm going to opt to not reconnect the preheater hose!

I'LL BE LETTING IT DANGLE!

Cheers-
