You heard right, I wanted the same thing, according to factory it is set that way for CV joint protection. Polaris machines have a much tighter turn radius but look at the number of Cv joints they go thru!! I have learned to use the 2wd drive to try and slide around a corner if at all possible, with the locked rear difff it is quite easy to gas it on and slide it around.
