Kymco super 8 50 2t Help
« on: July 04, 2018, 02:42:46 AM »
Hey, there everyone just put back together a kymco 8 50 2t.
Put in a 70cc kit, new ebay 19mm carb.  I set the carb to 2 turns, it starts but in order for it to idle, the idle adjustment on the carb is turned in all the way.

I'm going to replace the plug but it looks fine.
Reeds will be next, no air leaks
Any ideas? I can Rev the scooter and ride it but just bothers me that the carb idle screw is all the was in

Thanks in advance.

Murphy, I dont know too much about tuning a big bore kit. But what else did you do to the bike ?

You have a bigger carb and cylinder, did you increase your air intake and increase your exhaust also. The all play and integral role.

This super 8 forum is practically dead, but maybe if you list all your mods, someone can chime in. I would think but no sure that you would now need to open up the air intake a bit and add a performance exhaust to go along with the increased carb and cylinder.

Im pretty sure it's the reeds. I didn't look because the previous owner said they were fine. In any case the gap in the reeds were huge like 1cm gap on one side and 0.5cm on the other side.
