Thanks Stig, spoke to Kymco and the largest scooter they are offering in the U.S. for 2019 is the Xtown 300i.

Well, don't that beat all!
So, only the Burgman ($8000+ fees) 400 & the 650 remain in the over 300 market?
Does SYM sell a 400?
They just must not sell for dink.
I know that before I  laid down the $ for 400cc scooter I'd be looking hard at a motorcycle for the same, or less, money.

I noticed yesterday that there were some 2 dozen for sale scattered around the USA....listed at $5999 plus fees.
$2000 less than a Burgman 400. Even this Japanese made Suzuki takes a real dive at resale time in this country.
Wonder how the Kymco will do?
Probably some pretty good Internet deals, with discounts and shipping, avaliable out there if willing to contact 3 or 4 dealers. I always connect by internet and phone with at least two or three  dealers when buying new.

Moxie Scooters in Texas has one 400i left for $4999. I'm torn between that scooter and a brand new 2016 Kawasaki Versys 650 LT for $5500.

Yeah, get a lot more bike for the $ when compared to scoots.
Go for the 650 and never look back!

PS: Moxie are good people - he helped me years ago get the crash bars for my LIKE200iLX when no one else had them

Depending on your age, a scooter might be a better option. I started getting knee and back prooblems while I was riding my previous bike and did not have any option other than selling the bike. I then bought the scooter and it works perfectly for me. The knee and back problems are gone.

Scooters also offer some other pro’s:
1. Better wind and rain protection (legs).
2. More storage.
3. No chain lubrication and maintenance.
4. CVT belts are easier to replace (compared to chain replacements).
5. CVT belts are cheaper than chains.
6. In general I think maintenance costs should be cheaper, compared to maintenance costs on bikes.

Just my 2 cents.

Life is a journey. Just spend some time, and enjoy the trip.

Also depends on the riding you wanna do!
And I like to vouch for scooters if it’s your first time, given you time to focus on aspects of riding a bit more, and not worrying and shifting and such.
IMHO

If I wanted a scooter, I’d never consider a motorcycle simply because I could get more for the money. A motorcycle could never function as a scooter (no built in storage ). When I was riding, I cannot count the number of times I stopped off to grab a few groceries, or purchased a few clothing items, or other UNPLANNED items. Having said that, If I had the disposable income, I could see purchasing both. But if I could afford only one, I’d buy a big scooter similar to what I had or larger.

Mr Forbes, bike riders just have to be more inventive than the average scooter jockey.
I regularly brought home groceries, gal cans of paint .....and one 5' live cut Xmas tree on the rear rack of my Honda CB350. When you're young - and financially challenged - it's all just an adventure😊

True. When I was young, i could carry stuff on my BICYCLE that I couldn’t even IMAGINE trying to carry now. Necessity breeds innovation.

The Versys LT I'm looking at has way more storage than a scoot with the easily removable hard saddlebags and it readily accepts an aftermarket topcase. It's more of sport/touring bike than a cruiser. It's been about 9 yrs.but I logged over 20k miles on a very fast R6 sport bike,I could probably adjust if I decide to go this route.

Gonna keep a long story short, I’m selling my Xciting 400i, with much sorrow in my heart, if anyone is interested, or knows where I should post this more specifically, let me know

[emoji26][emoji26][emoji26]wow. And you seemed to be enjoying it so much. I wish I was in the market for one because it sounds like a great scooter.
