New battery
« on: July 17, 2018, 05:43:32 PM »
Replacing my 5 yr old battery with a YUASA.
The scooter has not required any new parts in a long time - other than a tire last summer which lasted 13,000 miles - so don't mind spendingt some $ for assured starts again this coming winter.
Going with a YTZ-14S, 230 cca,  11.8Ah.
This battery is the same size as the stock battery - only a few mm taller. This size fits fine after I trimmed a few mm off of the hold-down posts under the battery box lid.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I recall you modifying your battery lid to take that taller battery. Has it been 5 years already?! Wow, how time flies! That should spin that Like engine real quick, chop, chop! That is the same cca I stuck in the DT after the "white label" cheapo started failing after two years. Works way better and if it lasts...well, we will see how long it lasts. Not a Yuasa.
