clutch springs.

Changing the variator weights seems straight forward, and something I could tackle...

Looking at buying an exhaust and the seller is shipping weights and clutch springs...

how hard is it to change that out?
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

  Not to hard your first time around,you will need access to an impact wrench (air or electric) to get the veriater and clutch nuts off (17mm and 14mm on most).  Pay close attention to how they come appart.  The clutch is a little more difficult,you will need a large wrench or driver for the keeper nut and a vice or clamps to keep the spring compressed to disassemble.  Quite simple after a couple times of doing it,getting it appart the first time can be a bitch without the right tools!  ;)

yeah, it definately gets easier. i even payed a shop twice to get my clutch apart, then i saw it done that last time, takes about 5 min now....lmao... also pay attention to the clutch springs when they arrive.. some are shorter,which will make very hard to change, some have a longer hook which are way easier to change. my oem had the longer ones so i just kept using in other clutch(had longer also)

..  ??? NO!!!..NO IT"S NOT!!!..  ???

..I opened my stock exhaust, re-jetted my carb and gained 5mph, and a lot more torque!!!

you will need a large wrench

..39mm, or a 1-1/2" wrench/socket will work, but the 1.5 is slightly big....
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

The performance gain is not worth the money.  I can tell from first hand experience.

  Unless doing full mods on the 4t you have a point shub, I think ya can get the same performance with a couple well placed holes at the back for more flow.
  With the t2 The addition of the expansion chamber is a whole new ball game and power band and a must for better performance for most. (one exception the 1999 to 2002 people 50 they did there homework on this stocker pipe  :D)
  Then there is the sound,I do like to be heard a block away most of the time.

to much mods  on a 50 well do more harm then anything.Im a member of a scooter club and we have over 200 members been with theam for about 3 years now and have seen people mod there scoots
and burn theam up faster then I can ride. a littte mod is ok but if you want fast you should of got a bigger scoot.

..a pipe upgrade alone will only cause you headache of tuning problems..and not really be an upgrade...

..you must increase air intake, and properly re-jet your carb to benefit from an exhaust upgrade..

..i've drilled five 3/8" holes in my stock exhaust..tuned my carb and gained performance in every aspect..

..if you use quality parts, and perform your upgrades in the correct manner, the 50 4t does benefit..

I agree with the pipe being one of your later mods.

Air filter, new plug, fuel filter and new jet on the way.

Need to order a few extra jets to better tune it up. Don't want to need a kit like somebody posted just to change jets.
