The black and yellow wire goes from the coil up to the CDI  that is in the four pin connector with one green wire

I just watched a YouTube video from rolling wrench  Denver about CDI’s it appears I should have an AC fired CDI not a DC fired CDI so I guess my next step will be to get an AC CDI box and give that a shot

I just installed an AC fired CDI.   I tried it and nothing no spark.  On the black and blue wire that goes to the CDI when the ignition switch is on I have 12 V

Is 12 v supposed to be on that wire? Is the pulsar plugged in?

I will try to post pictures later of how my CDI is wired

Should only be power there if it is a DC CDI and yes the Pulser coil is plugged in.

Yesterday, I did a crash course on CDI hookups and the AC CDI's are hooked to a coil in the stator, the DC's are wired to 12 volts through the key. Referring to your service manual, what powers the CDI?

I believe it is the battery because I have 12 V at the blue and yellow wire

Blue and yellow wire comes from the ignition switch

That tells me in my ignorance that you have a DC CDI. NO, that is not conclusive. Heck, I don't know. Is there on the circuit diagram BOTH a coil in the stator AND 12v from the key hooked to the CDI?

Mercy! Nothing matches! What does the wiring diagram look like? Can you do a picture of that? Or at least of the CDI-ALT hookup?
