Matte finishes....?!
« on: July 27, 2018, 08:35:27 PM »
R e a l l y ?!!

Every dadgum buddy is doing it!
My dislike of matte finishes on bikes and scooters is profound! Probably half the reason I never could get in like with my Burgman - though I tried for a year.

Black panels, OK. Nice matte finish, but....

Seats and grips, OK...

Was in my dealer the other day - there sat a matte black LIKE !.....too much to hope it was simply primed for a paint job?

Normally I feel the same, but the new matte blue on the Kymco S 400i is an exception for me.
Me thinks it looks kewl:

Depends on the scoot/bike and the color.  They either look really
Cool or really not.

Diana has a matte finish. In the gunmetal grey that Kymco calls "Silver" (hint: it isn't, it's too dark) it looks really good. To me, at least. I'm the one that has to ride her. The thing I don't like is black bikes. Black is the most difficult color to see, and that means increased chances of being hit. I've never understood this fascination with black everything on motorcycles.

If I had my way, Diana would be painted like a McLaren Formula 1 car...

Those things aren't by any means the best cars on the circuit, what with Alonso and Vandoorne running ninth in the Constructors, but by god, that's a damned visible car. And the blue accents are great!
Two things to consider...
1) The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
2) Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

No, they can't.

There's this little thing in the way called "payment" and I just don't have any.

She should have come from the factory like that...

I really liked the matte finish on the Jeeps back in the day but they only offered it for one year. The desert tan matte metallic was nice and in fact where the ones chosen for Jurassic Park (with added gloss red).

My new Medley is matt and I would have preferred a gloss but I am starting to get use to it.  Just got to be a bit more careful with it.

Like your scoot!

Was searching Piaggio USA for bigger pix of your scoot- forgot that we only get the tricycle, the BV350, the Fly, the Liberty and Typhoon here.
The BV is well over twice the price of my Liberty150 - in the Honda Forza range - so out of my league.

With Honda being pretty much out of scooters in the USA - save for the little PCX - I wish Piaggio would have offered the Medley for consideration. The Honda SH150 and the Kymco People One 150 would have been in my radar - but not offered here. With so few scooter sales here - we're lucky we have any to choose from.

Looking for a matching red top case for the Liberty - but not going to pay that Calif. Vespa dealer $420 for one! Crazy.

Ride safe, Stig

Sigh... I'm going to have to take Diana out and have her pose for me.

Thought I have heard something about a new Forza being out?
