Smooth boss installed?
Also a big bore, or maybe something bigger.

What year is yours? I have a 2015 model & i swapped out the cdi box, larger carb, air filter and unrestricted boss and I average 40-45 mph flat ground and a little over 50 mph downhill.. did good for about a week now it has no power climbing hills at all![emoji849]

Oakley Java, that is because you did not put a larger main jet in the carb. Being so lean you probably overheated it and either burned a valve or broke a ring. One of the restrictions is a very lean mixture....

maybe lighter rollers would help to a point, or you can do what Oakly did, but make sure you use a bigger jet, & richen the mixture a bit.

Beyond that I say do a gas cap job and install a faster scoot.  Really the best solution IMHO.

No I purchased a larger carburetor with upgraded jets but I took the aftermarket variator I installed off and inspected it and the problem was there inside the variator and on the boss. (Preventing the variator to function properly).Hard to explain it wasn't dirt it was almost like gum or something very hard to clean off. Also the aftermarket roller weights were 8 grams versus the 6.5 grams stock, so I cleaned the stock parts and reinstalled them all except the restricted boss with exceptional results.

Ditto Xsel777.
Not sure how the gearing is on those, but since you seem to have a handle on it I'm curious if you tried running a lighter weight with that to increase revs?
My thought would be you'd lose potential top end that the bike can't really get to in exchange for actual top end.

No but the aftermarket part I installed had 8 gram weights so I installed the 6.5 stock one back on..went smooth on my way to work but started slowing down on my way home so I'm guessing it's the crappy drive boss.
