Thats a sure sign. If you have the  bearing out. Take it to a local bearing shop they will usually have what you need in stock at near 1/2 the price and twice the quality..

Hey art, given that 2 strokes are in your blood, I will direct this question to you, given that this thread was about crank bearings, I think seals ought to be included. When replacing the crank seals, are they standard seals or they special seals? I am considering splitting the case and working the inlet.

There is a good chance that the seals can fit from a bearing shop, but the oem's are cheap from the factory, best not to take a chance. Some have built in seals some don't. If built in should be fine. If seperated I would get the oem's. Ha! I'm almost awake! Point is it matters what kind of bearing it is.

Thanks art, I was just wondering about the seal construction, wether it is just an oil seal or different. If I go oem, I will have to order in advance, if I can get them from the bearing shop, I can take one down there and get one in a couple days. Other option is ebay, far quicker than oem, plus, have my eye on a stroker crank, just need the readies.

The crank seals are separate, the bearing bloke had both in stock, is chasing the bearings. On the stock bearings the outer race is a lot thicker than standard, would there be a reason for this?

I would think it was for clearence issues, wouldn't want the inner rubbing on anything once seated.
Did you save any cash?

G'day art, I was actually refering to the thickness from the inside diameter to the outside diameter.
Here's a pic.
