One more thing. Most likely you wiped your crank out by the bearing that went bad. Check the crankshft for scoring, heat marks, and put a set of calipers to see how true it is. But I would bet you wiped the crank where the bearing sits.

lankeeyankee, had you bothered to read the post you would see that my bearings and crank were not damaged, I was looking at replacing the bearings simply because I had the engine apart, the bearings are proving to be dificult to get a hold of and on ebay i can buy a crank with bearings for about $70, or $110 for a stroker crank, with bearings.

Areomyst, thanks for the offer, but if I go for a new crank I will probably go with one from ebay, they are a good price and have the bearings and seals with them. Trying to buy anything for these scoots in australia is not easy. This is why I got the cylinder kit from ebay, if i remember at the time a 70cc kit locally was $339, the one I got was $135.
