A Kymco and two Groms walk into a bar...
« on: August 15, 2018, 08:43:14 PM »
Well not exactly.  I just thought it would make a catchy title.  A better title might have been "A kymco and two Groms go for a ride."  I had the chance recently to meet a couple riding across the USA on two Groms and ride with them for a while.

My Super 8 and the 125cc Groms have pretty similar performance.  We might have been slow but still got stuck behind even slower traffic so we pulled over to let the traffic get down the road.

We made a few more stops and took some pictures.

That's fascinating!
Do they have a web site we could follow?
Would be very interesteding.
Those are a step up from Metropolitans...read a story by a Met rider who had many adventures on his little Honda scooter.
A Honda would also be my choice for a trip like that.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I’d do it on a spade instead.
Faster with a fifth gear for less $$$. Not to mention looks less like an insect....

Their trip is far more interesting than what I have posted so far.  How's this for a story.  The Couple is from new Zealand.  They shipped their Groms to NYC.  Then they rode them to Damascus, VA which is the start of the TAT (trans America trail)  Their plan is to ride the TAT to Oregon then ride down to LA where they will ship their bikes back home.

You can see all the details of their trip here:  https://advrider.com/index.php?threads/tat-2018-honda-grom-edition.1324638/

And a few more pictures.

Groms are very popular over here but mainly in the city.   Well done to the Kiwis.
