The gates 743 is a bit long I'm running one on my kitted people 50 (may hit your bendix spring).  The stock one measures 729 and seems too short to get all your top potential. Word found one in between the two but can't find the thread it was in. I believe the one in your link is a missprint the 61-11153 because i have one here and it's even smaller than the stock bando should read 728,but the 738 is probably the true size you want. We have run all these sizes and they will work in the people 50 and a50.

...i found a 729-18-30...it is about 1/8" longer than the OEM Bando belt...

..i snapped a 748 kevlar in my ppl..(that was ugly, and i'm not sure i ever want another kevlar)

..but you say you snapped a 729....

..i've found numerous different belt lengths called out for the A50...

..i'm not really sure what the "correct" length, after drive boss removal, should be...

..i had 2 bandos that were identical...

..the 729 was longer than them by a bit...

..aannd..1/8" of belt length makes a BIG change in how the cvt reacts...

..it's like...WOW!!...

i was runing the 729 and it didnt give full top end...
my original belt snapped at 8000km (well i couldnt find a piece of the the belt longer than 5cm in the case), and this 729-18-30 made in china zongsh*t snapped in 3 pieces.... couldnt take the heat... i rode for some km´s yesterday, about 60km at 38ºC, and i was feeling the bike a bit lazy before it snapped....

I´m waiting an answer of malossi HQ about their product 6113501 X KEVLAR BELT.

but if youre runing it with no prob i think it would be a good choice.

...and maybe i will order the naraku v/s belt made by bando 728-18-30 i guess and the malossi x-kevlar....just in case...

they say that kevlar belt tend to slip a bit until they are worm, is it true?

those 738 belts belong to piaggio scooters, and they could also be the solution

humm... after doing some research it seems that malossi has 2 types of belts for the a50:

  738 9 18 28° 6111153 KEVLAR BELT  32.95euro

and

743 9 18 30° 6113501 X KEVLAR BELT 23.80euro

so the first seem to be the most identical to stock size, but it has a diferent angle and price...

my 729 belt already worked very close to the bendix, wich i took of since it wasnt doing nothing there, it only fires up by kickin it

please SOMEBODY SHOOT ME!!

If you order the malossi 61-11153 It will be shorter than the stock one I have 2 of them. I think I would like to try a true 738 through gates or someone else,If your real adventurious try a 743 Ha! You will need some cvt tuneing if you go dawn that road, but if the starter is out of the way you will get some top end gains.

I dont understand, malossi belt sizes are not real? are they shorter? got me confused....

wordslinger is getting hi speeds with a 729 belt isnt he?

another thing that i have been reading is one of the problem of belt snappin is because some of the the rear variator mounted on some bikes doesnt open enough and the belt starts too stress and stretch when the front vario and engine is tuned, therefore i think that bikes like wordslinger and others has can achieve higher speeds than other due to this fact. it brought from fabric better quality rear vario.

I think there chart has a miss print. It is shorter than the bando stock size closer to 728 actuall size. I think the gates 729 is longer than the stock bando 729  ::)  if not running the bendix i think the 738 from anyone but mallosi would be worth looking at. I'm confused too  :D If you would like to get a little more top an after market drive face will let the belt ride even higher for a taller gear.

you are talking of the front drive face?
there are some without the starter tooth, and they look nice also 8)

im just affraid the belt decides to jump it and goes for a walk

If we could find the right belt  ;)  It will be fine  ;D  I'm running one in my people that was made for the a50 the starter even works, but running a longer belt so no bendix in there now. If you get an aluminium one it will change your weight ratio.
