Raining: so the valves & gear oil time
« on: September 08, 2018, 03:58:55 PM »
A very rare rainy day, so....
The valve and gear oil are on the same time & miles schedule - so I do them at the same time now that my scooter is fully broken in.

The valves will NOT be set per the under-seat label to 0.06mm +/- 0.02mm.
I have been setting my valves to .004 inches, which equals .102mm for 5 years. (.022mm above the recommended upper limit)

I only do a valve check after the scoot has sat over night.
I make certain that the .005 inch blade will not fit, to insure I don't go even further over the recommended gap.

It has been 14 months and I will report where I found the valves this inspection.

Found the exhaust valve a little tight, opened it to .004"

Hardest part of the project was finding the very, very faint TDC "T" on the flywheel. I painted it this time!
Mine was not as visible as this one seen on cyclepedia photo.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
