My proposed solution for -40 weather: 1. before it gets too cold , drive the scooter to a friend’s house who lives in a warmer area. 2.Pay him something for his trouble and stay with him until spring. 3. drive back home. 4. Repeat next year. [emoji23][emoji23]

Wow, just the mention of sub freezing makes Alabamians panic. Any forecast mentioning snow and we shut everything except emergency services.
Yeah, I joke a lot, but this is the truth!!!!

You don't need to change your coolant? Your bike is new? For the winter you may want to go to a lower viscosity oil such as 10/30. This way the motor my spin a little faster when cold. I would use mobile one synthetic. I use 10/30 winter, or 15/50 summer. You can find 10/30 at costco for a cheap price. Walmart stocks 15/50 mobile one.  :-*

sissymary, at -40 F, the coolant will freeze in you don't use a higher concentration of antifreeze.

For future reference. In the case of a new vehicle, it would be unnecessary to change the antifreeze. With a small system that a scooter has, all that’s necessary is to drain SOME of it and top it off with Pure antifreeze. The factory protection of 50-50 provides protection to -35. So you won’t have to drain and replace much to protect it to a much lower temperature . If you don’t drain much, You won’t need to bleed the system then. You can get a tester for a couple of dollars or so to confirm the freezing point.

73 this morning 92 for a high. If you could bring enough cold to give us a 60 degree morning and an 80 degree high. I’m sure I could wave the payment. Lol.
