Mysterious problem
« on: August 19, 2010, 07:04:06 AM »
Hello Everybody,

I have a rather interesting problem with my scooter. While riding the bike the engine suddenly shuts off without any previous signs. When I turn the ignition switch Off and On while the bike is still rolling the engine starts running again. It usually happens 2-3 times then everything is fine until the next day when the same problem occurs.
I've checked the ignition switch if there could be any contact problems but everything looks and works fine there. It's getting on my nerves already so any help or suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Hey tshu welcome to the forum. I would clean and check your ignition with an electrical contact cleaner. Spray it in and work the key also replace sparkplug check that your plug cap is tight.
How old is your scoot and miles. Some of the older scoot wires start to wear down may need to look for bear wire exposed and cover with tape. If these things don't help the coil, regulater and or stator (generater)will be the next things to check if electrical related.
May also be a fuel supply issue chek filter and vac lines  Good luck!
Kymco peoples too many ;) I'm not an expert just a full time hobbiest.
