Gas Capacity
« on: October 27, 2018, 06:32:03 PM »
New 150X 180 miles. Almost time for the 200 mile service. Love the scooter so far, but MPG seems low - not even 60. And the gas tank is tiny. i appreciate the weight reduction, I live where many of the roads are dirt and gravel (A reason I went with this scooter) but seems like I need gas every ride .  .  . Just venting. Question; Will the MPG improve as the scooter breaks in and matures?

dirt roads are bad for milage , try pavement for a long ride and check the mileage

I don't think it's the mileage so much as the tiny gas tank.

I think that each member of the build committee should spend time on the seat.....before engineering the appropriate fueling intervals.
How far should the scooter go before the rider tears up?
Like that....😊

When have taken my Super 8 for longer rides in the mountains I took along some extra gas.  I normally get around 70 MPG and have a 1.3 Gal tank.  That's just not enough range.  I went on a 5 day tour last year which included the Blue Ridge Parkway.  I carried an extra gallon on that trip and used it a couple of times.

But I have an older Super 8, not the X version.

A bigger tank is one mod I'd make if it was possible, but Alas! Tight fit.

You should be getting better than that.  I think there is something wrong with your scooter.

My gas mileage fluctuates partly because of off brand gas. Best is about seventy on average mid fifths
That's also what mine is rated for 57 mpg.

Yeah, I  get in that  57 mpg range. Don't think there's something wrong. My scooter accelerates quickly and has a nice top speed. Kymco gets a lot out of this 150 probably at the expense of great gas mileage.

I am getting 70-75 mpg on a 9000 mile 2013 (new old stock) DT300i. Is that 150 a carb model getting75 mpg?
