What does your enjine oil look like after 2000 km ?
« on: November 21, 2018, 05:17:34 PM »
I just bought a 2009 Agility 125 with 8400 km on the clock and changed the engine oil for the first time today.
I tried to forward a photo of the drained oil to show the color of the oil, but aparantly the “pixels” of my photo exceeds the number of pixels allowed to forward a photo.
Unfortunately I am “technology handicapped”, and do not know how to forward a photo of the drained oil to the forum. Can somebody please tell what the color of drained engine oil on a 125 Agility “in good condition” is suppose to look like after 2000 km ?

Thanks !

When seen in a drain pan , like Log Cabin syrup.
Oil's just doing it's job, darkening, collecting dirt.
What color did you get?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Pitch black. Not thick after been warmed up slightly, but completely black. Definitely not like Cabin syrup.

My previous bike was a Honda NC 700, and at 78 000 km on the clock the oil has never been that black during oil changes every 12 000 km.

The Honda has an oil filter, and the Kymco doesn't, hence the black oil.  The Honda can go 10,000km between oil changes, but the Kymco should be changed at 2,000km. Don't worry, your Kymco will survive OK with regular oil changes.
