Dragon Mods continue.  Now going under the hood.

Last week we switched out the rollers for sliders.  Gained a little punch on take off with no loss on the top.  It also got rid of an annoying vibration i was having.  (flat spotted rollers)

Today i ordered a 2 Brothers carbon fiber pipe.  Hopefully here in the next day or so.

Can't wait to hear that baby rumble!

What weight did you get on the sliders?  looking to get me some.

Also, video ASAP when you get the exhaust.  I want the non-carbon version for my S8.
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

Went 9g on the sliders.  (I'm a big guy).

I will prep a before and after video.  I am told the carbon fiber will have a lower rumble than the aluminum or titanium 2brs pipes.  Supposed to be a little quieter than those but i'm sure lot's louder than stock.

I agree with you on the exhaust...  I want one so bad.

9g... wow.  thats a a big drop isn't it?  I don't know what the stockers weigh.

I'm a biggun too.  Going to order me some sliders asap.  What deminsion were they?

oh, and thanks for the help and keep us updated.  If we ever cross paths I hope we have our S8's with us!

2 Brothers Racing REPORT:  Part 1

Let's start with... look at this bad boy!!!

We put the pipe on and ran it for 30 min or so.  Did a plug check which looked good xo we left it there.  I'm gonna run the pipe for a bit and then we will look at free flow filter and up jet.  Also the S8 seems to have a very restricted cdi so we'll probably try something that will let it rev a bit.

Speed results - On the two hills that i use for test runs i hit my speed checks 4mph faster 3 out of 4 times.  One time 3mph faster.  (Indicated).  Not 2T type improvement but i knew that going in.

I have not had a chance to do a run on the road i use for flat speed check but my sense from the rest of my 20 mile ride is that my top end is maybe 1 mph faster.  So i'm "quicker" and pulling harder but not much "faster".

Sound results, and conclusion.  You'll just have to wait for the movie!   ;D

The pipe was very easy to install.  Especially since i watched while my "tuner" Brian did it!  lol

It's a well laid out kit with high quality bits.  The pipe is designed to be easily opened up for repacking.  Which it recommends checking every 3K miles.  If you burn off too much packing you can start to damage the carbon fiber.

2 Brothers Racing REPORT: Part 2

The sound is a good bit louder but not in the illegal range by any means.  It is great to be able to "growl" in traffic when i need to get someones attention.  Generally i think people close to me are much more likely to be aware that i am coming.  And have a better sense of my speed.

The added punch on the low end is also a big + for me.  I feel a lot more passing ability in the 40 mph zone.

But you can judge for your self. ;D

Conclusion-
Great looks, Easy to install, Rockin' sound and some gutsy low end performance gain.  Well worth the price of admission.

Sorry i forgot to answer this. Stock were 18x14x12g.

We should all "cross paths" at the Tail of the Dragon next year!

Did a 80 mile ride today performance testing the pipe.  My friend Vince and i rode twisties, hills and flats.  It seems i was a little conservative on my first impression.

Background - Vince rides the yellow / blue S8 that is in the recent videos with me.  Same year and setup (Pilot skins) as mine.  He is about 40 lbs lighter and a good bit shorter than me so he is always "faster".  He can drop me slowly in the hills and quicker on the flats.

Until i "hit the pipe" baby!

Now all day long i can drop him.  Interestingly i catch him much quicker in the hills.  Improvement in the flats is not as dramatic.  So i have made up for the past difference and then gained some on top of that.

Passing speed on the hills is very close to the difference between a stock 2T and a 70 2T.  (you know i've passed some stock 2Ts in my day) ;D

I am from the "show me" state so NOW i AM impressed!
