2019 XTown 300i abs---Puig Touring windshield ridden test
« on: December 03, 2018, 06:07:47 PM »
Today rode my XTown 300i with Puig Touring Shield-----works fine, quite calm and silent behind shield.  I have owned 10 new maxi scooters since 1990----all got after market windshield...due to stock being crap.

This Puig works, and I at first thought it might be too tall....but I think it will work out ok.  No saw work until I do at least 1000 miles with it...then?

I have read complaints on riding position being cramped on Xtown----real problem is location of seat "hump".  My Burgman 400's had the small backrest adjustable with levers, my 2 SilverWing 600's, allen wrench required to adjust, etc.  Hump on Xtown not adjustable, so the problem.  Fix? For me, live with it.

Wore 6 inch Red Wings today, temps in the 40's, noticed some cold air movement at ankles. FIX---wear my 12 inch Wolverine boots or my Aerostich Combat Lite boots with pants tucked in.

Front Wheel, On freeway seemed to have slight imbalance---FIX:  bottle of  "Ride On"

I am very pleased with this bike.... of course built to price point but it is going to work for me.  Have shop manual ordered, have spare new drive belt as I figured belts are the weakest point of the rubber band drive scooter....but by changing at maker's recommended intervals----only one broken drive belt in over 400,000 rubber band drive scooter miles.

Ride on, John! Keep forgetting you wore out more bikes than some dealers have sold. Hey! No pictures! You could be ridin' a bicycle for all we know!

I do not take pictures.  I don't wear out bikes, I get rid of them before trouble---50,000 miles is get rid of point for me, recent exceptions Kawasaki Concours 1200-56,000 miles, Suzuki GS500e, 64,000 miles.   Both no troubles.

We will see on Kymco
