Kymco Agility Noise!! Help
« on: December 06, 2018, 05:56:21 AM »
I’ve had my kymco agility 2017 125cc for just over a year. It’s had a few problems but is otherwise ok. It does have trouble starting when it’s cold but that’s not so bad. Today was the first time I’ve ridden it in ten days since coming back in holiday. It’s been parked in my back garden, covered with a cover. It was fine for ten minutes then started making this noise. It was slow to start but quickly built up. I stopped to get fuel and noticed the noise stops when the indicator is on? It also starts making the noise once the key is in the scooter and turned but the engine isn’t on? I don’t have any experience with scooters except riding it and am hoping to find out what’s wrong with it without taking it into a shop as I have zero money at the minute. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Guessing something electrical of course.   Probably just a bit of corrosion on something. Can you zero in on where the noise appears to be coming from?
Maybe do a quick youtube post of the noise?

Zero money is good for learning! You have any tools? Like screwdriver(#2 Phillips), small adjustable wrench? Multimeter? Take some of the front plastic off and locate by feel and listening what is making the noise and disconnect it(it's electrical like Tromp said). Will the bike run normally when disconnected? What DOESN'T work when disconnected? What is the battery voltage when all this is happening? Start feeding us answers to all this in the sequence asked and we'll find it!

Taking the headlight off shouldn't be a problem if it's anything like on the older model that I have.
If you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't have the tools or if it's still under warranty take it to the dealer.

Kinda guessing it's your blinker relay, but tough to say until ya open it up and have  look.
Sadly I don't have a book on the agility so can't be of much help there specifically.
Since this might have been caused by some mild corrosion from sitting covered outside when you get it open and find the relay it might just be a simple cleaning of the socket maybe the relay if its not potted.
Possible it's a bad ground causing something to misbehave as well, but once again you'll need to take a look.
If the bike turns over slowly as part of your hard starting issue it's possibly even a battery issue, but that'd be a bit of a reach.  That could be a separate issue.

None of this is really hard to check, or do.  You can handle it with just a few tools.  Take your time keep an old egg container or something for parts/screws.  Heck take phone pics at each step.
