Mongoose 90(Brand New) won't idle when warm
« on: December 26, 2018, 08:41:17 PM »
So my wife convinced me to get the mongoose 90 for my daughter because of the reverse option(something the other quads that size in my area lacked). It ran great for about 5 minutes around the yard then it died. It seemed like a carb issue to me. I turned a 'idle screw?' clockwise and that only increases the rpms a bit but doesn't help keep it running really. I can run it around the yard all morning under mid to heavy throttle. (the dealer is naturally closed the week of Christmas)

any tips/tricks to get it working properly. My wife won't let me monkey with it until she see's some proof of the issue and I want to watch my daughter rip up and down the roads without the quad dying when she is stopped.

Thanks,
E

These are new, right? Sounds like a warranty issue. Also sounds like the dealer had these sitting around a long time with gas in them and the idle jet got plugged. Me, I would take the carb off and ckeck/clean the jets to start but that could void your warranty unless you can leave no traces of your work!
