Clutch Springs
« on: September 01, 2010, 04:54:29 PM »
Hello,

Since nobody is answering the topic where the question came up (/index.php?topic=1783.0) I thought I would open a new one.
Hoping that this will resolve my problem I want to replace the clutch springs of my 2009 Agility 125. The parts that I am talking about are marked in the attachment (driven face spring and the three small springs that engage the clutch). Please, can anybody tell me which aftermarket parts I need? I want to replace with stiffer springs and some people here seem to have done it.
Please tell me which parts I need - I can't seem to figure it out myself!

Thanks,
Emil

this is serial parts...

but u need something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-Sym-Kymco-PGO-TGB-Atv-Quad-GY6-125-Torque-Spring-/370101348984?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GY6-125-150cc-HP-Clutch-Spring-Set-1000-1500-2000-RPM-/400099576785?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

tune up is a dirty work. sometimes its too much for nomal person, so....leave it to specialist..

variomatic is combined from many parts (power peek, belt, rollers, springs, etc) and got too many solutions depends on demands....

if u just get stiffer springs, u will get lower rpms for start and that the same like getting heavier rollers.....scoot killed...

just take it apart, clean it and use proper moment wrench....

think that agility cant go faster....

just buy dr. pulleys rollers 12g for better start...

There is know straight answer, you may be interested in this.   http://www.sip-scootershop.com/EN/Products/M5111545/Variator+MALOSSI+Multivar.aspx   Or this   http://www.sip-scootershop.com/EN/Products/M2912536/Clutch+springs+MALOSSI+for.aspx  . Most use the white malossi spring for a start . The fly springs don't make a whole lot of differenc unless highly tuned. If broken replace with the light set. These changes may alter the weights needed for best performance. Dr pulley is a great set of weights when you know which one you want to run.

Thanks guys,

Guess I have to make a decision here. Maybe i should really start by just giving my clutch a good cleaning and checking the parts.  And then start experimenting.

Does that variator really fit - like taking the old one out - putting the new one in - basta?
I am a bit scared now after what marioG said. i don't want to kill my scoot...

It says it's for your model plus you get the spring and some weights to help tune.

I think he was refering to the performance was dead because not all was matched and tuned. It can get a little tricky your first go around.

For example if you just do a spring change your weights may no longer work well at that rpm for you.

But malossi usually puts a good kit together for ya out of the box,and should put you in the ball park right off the bat.

The more you know your bike the easier it is to decide what works best for you then you can fine tune even more from there with fly spring belt and what not. It's a bit of trial and error but good expierence all around.
