Because this machine has been passed down thru a number of owners you cant expect Kymco to do anything.  Warranty is for original owner only. Looks like machine was abused before current owner. Bite the bullet and accept the fact you were taken, unfortunately there are many more out there in the same situation. Buyers beware is a saying that always hold true!

I AM the original owner,I bought the machine brand new and have NEVER abused it. The hardest thing it has ever done is plow my 60 foot driveway for the last 3.5 yrs(always in low gear) . My hunting stand is almost a mile from the house on the mountain behind my house so most of the only 412 miles are from that trip. That is why I am sooo pissed about this!

Actually, the warranty is fully transferable on all Kymcos. Simply let Kymco USA know that you are the new owner for the remainder of the warranty period.

Some  thing in this story, doesnt add up. Why would a dealer sell a brand new machine on ebay?  Kymco is extremely picky about the way there new machines are sold.  My dealer says that Kymco will not allow them to sell thru ebay with a factory warranty.  I have no idea, and I feel sorry for the present owner, no one wants problems with there machine, especially those that cost big money, but something in this story is missing.

Back in late 2015 when I bought this thing the dealer had several Kymco machines listed on Ebay as brand new.Took delivery of my machine in early 2016,certainly looked and smelled brand new and only showed 7 miles on the odometer,filled out and registered the factory warranty paper work. You telling me I have been scammed from the start,have talked to several people at Kymco USA and no one has questioned the fact that I bought it off Ebay. Sounds like my next phone call should be to my lawyer.

Here's the deal. Most OEM dealers, for most brands, cannot sell a vehicle in a crate and ship it to the buyer and expect warranty. The vehicle MUST be assembled and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) by the dealer, if not, no Warranty. Now,one loophole is if the dealer assembled and PDI'ed the machine and made sure it was running proper, and shipped it to the buyer assembled then that is OK. The only thing missing would be an in person walk around/delivery. Vehicles are sold daily, new and used, on Ebay. Nothing illegal about that.
You machine is over 2 years old, yes it is low mileage, but you cannot expect warranty after 2+ years. Kymco has no way of knowing how the vehicle was treated (except for your word which i assume is true). No manufacturer is going to warranty in your case. Even with a lawyer, your chances are slim to get any type of Goodwill warranty.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, there you have it.

The only possible chance of any warranty would have been to return it to the selling Kymco dealer and let them take it apart and decide what happened. If they could have shown it was a defect then the buyer might have a chance, I have saw this happen on a number of ocassions. However the nature of the sale and repair by a non Kymco dealer, the chance for any warranty is gone out the window. When warranties are in place certain things need to be done in the correct order to get coverage.  Many times the best deal turns out to be the most expensive!

Look lets clear some things up,I bought this thing brand new not in a crate from a dealer in Jasper Indiana only because he was willing to deliver it and take a compact diesel tractor in on trade,not because it was the cheapest deal around. He delivered it to me fully assembled and all gone over. I have pushing $14,000 dollars invested in this thing,had the warn winch and mid mount Warn plow installed and the full hard enclosure and upgraded tires and wheels. At 51 yrs of age this was suppose to be the rest of my lifetime investment to plow my driveway,do yard work,and get me on and off the mountain in my backyard for hunting.
At almost 4 yrs old I am well aware it is no longer under any kind of warranty(never implied that it was) not looking for a free ride,just would like to know at such low mileage why a major component of the drive system would fail totally locking up the rear end at full throttle. It was one scary ride I am here to tell you, I could of been killed or seriously injured,thank god the dirt road had lots of snow and ice on it and I knew enough to steer thru the skid. Do not even want to think what would of happened if my grand children were behind the wheel at the time. You do not think it was that wild of a ride take your machine out on a dirt road and get it up to speed and then stand on your brakes,better hang on. Just looking for some answers and want people to understand what happened. If Kymco feels guilty etc. and wants to help with the $3000 dollar repair bill that would be great but that is not what I am after.

Wish this was the story we had to start with, with so much info left out we had no choice but to jump to conclusions.  Sorry we did that.  If you had returned it to the original dealer and if he could show faulty parts you had a chance of getting some help from Kymco. My own dealer has done that for another customer. I hate to hear stories like this from a company where I own there equipment. Based on my constant research I can say with confidence yours is a one in thousands exception.  I reaserched for months before my purchase and continue searching for issues so I would know how to handle any issue on my own.  I hope they get your machine up and running like it is supposed to do. Hopefully one day you will be able to seriously enjoy your ride!

Well, what ever happened with your machine? Did you get the place you took it to do the repairs, and if so, how is it running now?
